On June 5, 2024, JCMS students and teachers took part in a special Environment Day event focused on raising awareness and promoting community cleanliness. With placards in hand, displaying messages like “Save Our Planet,” “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle,” and “Keep Our Surroundings Clean,” students from various classes gathered early at school before setting out on a peaceful walk through the main roads and public spaces.
Teachers and students lined up in an orderly formation, gaining the attention of locals as they walked along the route. Their dedication was clear as they stopped along the way to pick up litter, dispose of waste responsibly, and inspire onlookers to consider their own roles in protecting the environment. Their final stop was at the Kashiabari Rail Station, where they took time to clear discarded trash and plastic from the premises, emphasizing the importance of keeping public spaces clean.
The students’ enthusiasm and commitment were evident as they eagerly cleaned and spread their messages to everyone they encountered. Teachers guided and encouraged them throughout the walk, helping to reinforce the importance of environmental responsibility and collective action.
The event concluded with a brief speech from the Principal, who congratulated the students for their efforts and reminded everyone of their ongoing duty to protect the environment. Certificates were awarded to acknowledge their participation, and the school vowed to continue its efforts to educate students on environmental issues.
JCMS’s Environment Day celebration was a proud moment for the school, leaving a positive impact on both the participants and the local community, and reaffirming the school’s commitment to environmental awareness.
